The limited edition prize set is part of the 2009 Sands of Gallipoli range of collector's item which feature small vials of sand collected from the landing beaches at Gallipoli.

The first Sands of Gallipoli collection was released in 2004 and has since grown to become a national icon, helping people celebrate and remember the ANZAC spirit. Each year a unique collection is created and at least 10 per cent of proceeds from the sale of the collection is provided to support the RSL's ongoing welfare work in the veteran community.

This year the annual Sands of Gallipoli commemorative campaign looks at the service medals earned on the Gallipoli battlefields. Through Prominent Medals of Gallipoli eight of the military medals and ribbons, as awarded to individual ANZACs for conspicuous bravery, have been reproduced.
