LIGHT HORSE CARRIES GALLIPOLI
SANDS PAST HISTORIC SYDNEY SCHOOL
Seven mounted riders dressed as ANZAC Light Horsemen
will escort the 2005 Sands of Gallipoli collection though inner
Sydney streets
Wearing spurs, swords and slouch hats the Horsemen
will trot to the ANZAC Memorial at Hyde Park to hand over the
2005 Sands of Gallipoli collection to the National President of
the RSL
The Horsemen will pass by Crown Street Public School
where 100 students will cheer them on, similar to 90 years ago
when a previous generation of young Australians would have cheered
the Light Horse

There is a cenotaph directly in front of the
School and a flagpole dedicated to William Freebairn, a former
student killed during the 1914 - 1918 War.
He died at ANZAC Cove and is buried at Gallipoli.
