LIGHT HORSE CARRIES GALLIPOLI SANDS PAST HISTORIC SYDNEY SCHOOL

Seven mounted riders dressed as ANZAC Light Horsemen will escort the 2005 Sands of Gallipoli collection though inner Sydney streets

Wearing spurs, swords and slouch hats the Horsemen will trot to the ANZAC Memorial at Hyde Park to hand over the 2005 Sands of Gallipoli collection to the National President of the RSL

The Horsemen will pass by Crown Street Public School
where 100 students will cheer them on, similar to 90 years ago when a previous generation of young Australians would have cheered
the Light Horse

Date: Thursday 7 April 2005
Time: 12:15pm
Place: Crown Street Public School
Crown Street
Surry Hills 2010

There is a cenotaph directly in front of the School and a flagpole dedicated to William Freebairn, a former student killed during the 1914 - 1918 War.
He died at ANZAC Cove and is buried at Gallipoli.
